Peninsula Truck Lines Wins Mastio Quality Award

Mastio & Company, a research-consulting firm, awarded Peninsula Truck Lines winner as the best carrier among the Western Carrier Group and third overall in its just completed 3rd Edition of the industry wide LTL (less-than-truckload) Customer Value & Loyalty Study.  Mastio & Company published the 3rd Edition in September.  The 2nd Edition was published in 2006 while the 1st Edition was published in July of 2005.

The study’s findings are based on data collected by telephone interviews with key decision makers of 2,485 shippers during June, July and August. Of 263 carriers rated nationwide, 40 carriers had sufficient ratings to be included in the 2007 report. Shippers were asked to rate the carriers they use on 24 attributes important to customer satisfaction, loyalty and the value they perceive their LTL carriers provide. Twenty-one of the carriers exceeded the industry benchmark. Peninsula Truck Lines has been in the study for the past two years.  In 2006 Peninsula exceeded the industry benchmark.

The LTL study identified the factors most important to customers’ perception of value & loyalty which are used to decide carrier selection.  The five most important factors identified were shipments delivered with no shortages or damages, shipments delivered when promised, shipments picked up when promised, effective problem resolution and competitive pricing.  The study also benchmarked carrier performance on those critical factors as to whether the carrier's performance is better, average or worse than competing carriers.

Study results are grouped in seven indexes:  Overall, National Carrier Group, Inter-Regional Carrier Group, Mid-Atlantic Region, Great Lakes/Midwest Region, Southern Region, and Western Region.

According to Peninsula’s President Stan Vander Pol, “Providing personalized, premium service for all our customers is our goal at Peninsula Truck Lines.  All our employees are dedicated professionals who care about our customers and are committed to giving them outstanding service and total satisfaction.  To be recognized as the overall winner among Western Carriers in customer value and loyalty is because of our employees and is an honor for our organization.”
